CEO Brian Kent wins Entrepreneur Award
Brian Kent, who established Fayetteville defense contractor K3 Enterprises Inc. a decade ago, was recognized as the Entrepreneur of the Year by Methodist University.
"I think 'Fay Strong' is a great place to start a business, and that's why I stayed," Kent, 47, said in accepting his award.
K3 was launched in his living room as a one-person consulting firm. The service-disabled, veteran-owned small business has since grown into a staff of 80 employees, handling technology contracts worth more than $10 million a year, according to materials provided by Methodist.

K3 Enterprises Awarded First Task Order Win on INSCOM GISS
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – K3 Enterprises, Inc. (K3) was awarded a task order for Security Resiliency and Insider Threat Program Support. This task order is awarded under the small business restricted suite of the INSCOM Global Intelligence Support Services Acquisition.
Security Resiliency and Insider Threat Program Support focuses on three main tasks. (1) Security Resiliency/Insider Threat Program Management, (2) Support to Army Threat Management Information Sharing (ATMIS) and Security Analysis Fusion Enterprise (SAFE) and (3) Security Professional Education Development (SPeD). “At K3, we believe in being innovative, thinking about the total problem, and providing an idea based on the best solution. INSCOM GISS: Looking to create a more responsive acquisitions process for Army intelligence, security and information operations requirements, the INSCOM Global Intelligence Support Services Acquisition was established as an integrated approach to providing support for Army intelligence missions, according to the original solicitation. Current support systems are derived from disparate intelligence community contracts, the Army said.
